Maintenance Schedule/Intervals

E-Ride Pros, much like other e-motos, require very minimal maintenance. Considering there are less moving parts than your typical gas bike, maintenance on an E-Ride Pro is much simpler and easier!

Check Bolts

When you receive your E-Ride Pro, it's a good idea to go through and check that bolts are in their intended positions, torqued to spec, and thread locker is applied if necessary. Put blue thread locker onto bolts you intend to remove in the future and put red thread locker on bolts that you don't intend on removing or would be highly susceptible to coming loose. Refer to the torque spec chart above for factory torque specs and torque all bolts to their recommended specifications.

Lubricating Your Chain

You should lubricate your chain every 200-400 miles. If you ride more off-road than on-road, you will want to lubricate your chain closer to the 200 mile mark because of dirt and grime building up faster in off-road environments. If you ride more on-road than off-road, you will want to lubricate your chain closer to the 400 mile mark. If you notice significant friction, resistance, or dryness in the chain before you hit this mark, you can always preemptively lubricate the chain. Excess lubricant will not hurt anything on the bike.

Tire Maintenance

All tires will last a certain number of miles, but the amount of miles can change substantially depending on the tire's compound, tread pattern, and the rider's riding style. Typically you can expect anywhere from 800-1,500 miles on your tires before needing replacements. If you ride more off-road than on-road, you will want to start thinking about new tires closer to the 800 mile mark. If you ride more on-road than off-road, you will want to start thinking about new tires closer to the 1,500 mile mark. Remember to check your tire pressure frequently and check for tread wear, sidewall damage, etc. so that you can stay ahead of any potential mishaps that could leave you stranded roadside or trailside.

Brake Maintenance

Over time, your brake pads will wear down to the point where they need replacement. The timeline for this is heavily dependent on your riding style, the brake pad compound, the type of terrain you ride, and your general brake usage (front vs. rear, grab vs. drag, etc.). Because of these variances, it's always a good idea to check your brake pads for wear. When they need to be replaced, you will have to remove the caliper from the mounting point on your forks, then remove the pads and replace them. It is a very straightforward and simple process that can be completed in as little as 10-15 minutes with the right tools. YouTube is a great resource for DIY instructional videos.

Belt Tension

The E-Ride Pro is equipped with a belt drive system. Over time, the belt can wear down or stretch, requiring either removal and replacement of the belt or an adjustment of the belt tensioner. Belt tension adjustment is a very quick and easy process. On the left side of your bike, there is a plastic cover covering the belt drive. Remove this cover to better visualize and test belt tension. Towards the swingarm, there is an adjustment lever that resembles a metal snail. To adjust belt tension, loosen the bolt holding the belt tensioner on. Moving the belt tensioner lever upwards/downwards will tighten/loosen the belt tension. Once you have your belt tension set, re-tighten the bolt holding the belt tensioner. Make sure to leave enough slack that the belt has room to flex, but not so much slack that the belt could slip off or skip teeth on the motor.
